Overview

You may wish to explore one or more of the options listed below depending on your pricing model or plan structure:

  • If you sell a basic service to all of your customers, you may choose to create a paid master plan, then offer additional services as supplemental plans.
Example
You can offer a $59.99/month calling plan as a master plan and offer additional services such as unlimited texting or unlimited data as supplemental plans.
  • If you offer a variety of services, you may choose to create a master plan containing a free service ($0 master plan), then create multiple supplemental plans offering different paid services.
  • Consider which plans you want to make available to your customers based on the plans to which they are currently subscribed. Be sure to structure your plan groups, and master-supplemental plan relationships to provide your customers with access to the applicable plans.
Example
If you want your customers who are subscribed to the Bronze plan to be able to upgrade to the Silver or Gold plan, then be sure that your plan groups do not prevent that from happening.
  • Be sure to associate your master plans with all applicable supplemental plans so that when your customers switch between master plans, they will still have access to the applicable supplemental plans of your choosing.
Example
If you create master plan 1 that is associated with supplemental plans A, B, and C, then you create master plan 2, be sure to also associate master plan 2 with supplemental plans A, B, and C. That way, when your customers switch between master plans 1 and 2, they will still have access to supplemental plans A, B, and C.
  • If you don't want to be concerned with your customers losing access to supplemental plans that are not associated with their new master plan, you may want to consider creating a master plan containing a free service ($0 master plan) as your only master plan. This $0 master plan can be assigned by default to all of your customers. You can then offer your paid services as supplemental plans so that your customers can simply switch between supplemental plans and will not lose access to any of their other supplemental plans.
