Overview

You can offer customers:

  • A master or supplemental trial plan that is free for a certain number of months, then automatically rolls over to a paid plan.
  • A master plan that is free for a certain number of days, then is automatically billed at your specified rate.
  • A master plan that is free for a certain number of months, then features a discounted rate for a certain number of months, then automatically rolls over to a different plan that features a regular rate.

Note: If you are creating a free plan that will roll over to a different paid plan, you must first create the paid plan, then create the free plan.

Create a master plan that is free for a number of months, then is billed at a specified rate.

Example

You create a master plan that will be billed at a rate of $50 a month. If you specify that the plan will be free for one month, Aria will not bill the subscribed customers for one month. After the month has gone by, subscribed customers are billed at a rate of $50 a month.

To create this rollover plan setup, select the Initial Free Months to specify the number of free months that you will offer.

Aria will not bill the customer for the plan until the number of free months has elapsed.

Do not fill in the Initial Account Status, Days Until New Account Status, New Account Status, Months Until New Rollover Plan, and Rollover Plan fields.

Create a master plan that is free for a number of months, then rolls over to a different paid plan.

 Example

You can create plan A that will be free for one month then roll over to Plan B that costs $50 a month. You must first create Plan B with services billed at $50 a month, then create plan A that contains free services.

To create this rollover plan setup, select the Initial Account Status to specify the status that an account should have when a customer registers for the trial plan.

Note: This must be a billable status in order for the customer to be billed after the trial period is over.

  1. Select the Months Until New Rollover Plan to specify the number of months for which a customer should be subscribed to the free plan.
  2. Select the Rollover Plan to specify the paid plan to which the customer will be upgraded to after the free trial period is over.

Do not fill in these fields: Initial Free Months, Days Until New Account Status, New Account Status.

Create a master plan that is free for a number of months, then is billed at a discounted rate for a number of months, then rolls over to a different paid plan.

Example

You can create plan A that will be free for one month, then billed at a discounted rate of $99 for six months, then roll over to Plan B that is billed at the regular rate of $159 a month. You must first create Plan B with services billed at $159 a month, then create Plan A with services billed at $99 a month.

To create this rollover plan setup:

Note: This must be a billable status so the customer is billed after the trial period end.

  • Select the Months Until New Rollover Plan to specify the number of months for which a customer will be billed a discounted rate for the plan.

The Months Until New Rollover Plan should be equal to the number of Initial Free Months plus the number of months for which a customer will be billed a discounted rate for the plan.

Example

If the number of Initial Free Months is 1, and the number of discounted rate months is 6, then the Months Until New Rollover Plan should be set to 7 (6 +1).
