Registering an Account

Overview

Before implementing the account registration process, identify the following information:

  • The master plan(s) you are offering.
  • The supplemental plan(s) you are offering.
  • Acceptable payment methods (Examples: credit card, ACH, or net terms).
  • The coupons you are offering.
  • Your account billing date (account creation date or a different date).
  • The layout and contents of your statements.

Postconditions

At the end of the account registration process, the following results are achieved:

  • In the credit card, net terms, and electronic check payment flows:
    • If your event notifications are enabled in Aria6, then the applicable notifications are transmitted.
For example, you receive a notification stating that an account was created. You can then complete the applicable actions required by your company for new accounts.
    • A new account exists.
  • In the net terms payment flows: A statement is sent to the customer.
  • In the credit card or electronic check (ACH) payment flows:
    • If the credit card authorization succeeds
      -or-
    • The bank routing number is validated and the payment method is set to ACH:
      • Any generated pending invoice is approved.
      • A payment is collected from the customer.
      • A statement is sent to the customer.
  • In the credit card and electronic check payment flows:
    • If the payment collection process fails:
      • The account goes into dunning. The dunning process does not begin if the payment collection failed due to reasons beyond the customer’s control such as a server error or a payment processor error.
      • Any generated pending invoice is deleted after three days based on the default setting in your Aria implementation unless the customer returns to your site and provides a valid form of payment before the 3 days elapse.
