Client Account IDs

Overview

By default, each Aria account is assigned a unique Account Number when created. The Client Account ID is a field that can additionally be set on each account to be tied to your internal CRM application, Production account ID, or other internal systems, for easier tracking and account management.

If a Client Account ID is assigned to an account, this account can be quickly searched for in the Aria Ad Hoc search in lieu of searching by the default-assigned Account Number (Accounts > Search > Ad Hoc).

Note: If utilizing Client Account IDs, please be mindful that this must be specified in your statement template design. Please send a service request by submitting a Parature support ticket to request a change in your statement template.

Configuring Whether Client Account IDs Should be Unique

For additional flexibility, users can configure whether a Client Account ID that is assigned to an account must be unique (i.e. not used on any other account). By default, the parameter that controls this setting is set to False.

Note: Having the client parameter set to False may be a good best practice for structuring certain parent-child accounts, such as Parent Pay hierarchies, since assigning the same Client Account ID to several accounts in Aria ties them to the same account.

To set the client account ID to be unique for each account, follow the steps below.

Getting Here: Click Configuration > Client Settings > Miscellaneous Settings

  1. Select the Check “Client Account ID” is already assigned to any other account client setting.
  2. Select True from the Value drop-down.

Note: The default setting for this client parameter is False.

  1. Click Save.

Configuring Whether Client Account IDs Should be Unique in Account Hierarchy Creation

There is an additional client parameter that controls whether or not the <client_acct_id> input parameter should be checked for uniqueness across existing accounts when completing the create_acct_hierarchy API.

If the entire account hierarchy exists, the new accounts will not be created. If any account exists with the same <client_acct_id>, but is under a different hierarchical structure, then it will be created under a new hierarchy, as defined in the API.

To set this client parameter, follow the steps below.

Getting Here: Click Configuration > Client Settings > Miscellaneous Settings

  1. Select the Check “Client Account ID” on Hierarchical Account Creation client setting.
  2. Select an option from the Value drop-down.
