Supported Payment Gateways

Overview

Payment gateways and payment processors accept only certain payment methods and might have special conditions under which they accept particular payment methods. Please check with your chosen payment gateway(s) and payment processor(s) for more information. In order for you to use a particular combination of payment gateway and payment method, that combination must be supported by Aria, your chosen payment gateway, and your chosen payment processor.

Special Note: Payment Gateway configuration and integration are extremely sensitive settings with respect to security of payment card and other personally identifiable information. You should carefully control and routinely monitor your Payment Gateway(s). Given your role as controller of the data that flows through the gateway, you should limit access to this module to your qualified, authorized resources, and ensure compliance with PCI and other applicable data security and privacy laws, regulations and standards.

Payment gateways accept certain payment methods in particular countries. Please contact your payment gateway to find out which payment methods they accept in which countries.

If you intend to accept ACH or any credit card other than Visa or MasterCard, please contact your payment gateway to find out what additional requirements need to be met in order for you to conduct financial transactions using those payment methods.

The payment methods and payment features supported by each payment gateway in Aria are listed below.

  • iDEAL
  • SOFORT
  • Yandex
  • WebMoney (Due to testing limitations, this payment method can only be tested in a Production environment. Be sure to test this payment method before fully implementing it)
  • Tokenized SEPA Direct Debit
    • This payment method requires that the account holder sign a mandate before it can be implemented. Payments can only be made with SEPA Tokenized Direct Debit after the mandate has been approved with the record_mandate_approval or record_mandate_approval_m API. It is the client's full responsibility to ensure that the end user signs a paper mandate that verifies that this electronic mandate is valid. Neither Aria or the payment gateway can intervene if the end user disputes signing the mandate later.
    • The client must collect in the account's currency, which must be a currency supported by SEPA Direct Debit.
    • Because this payment method requires setting up the client mandate in advance, it is not available as an alternative one-time payment method when creating orders.
    • If the payment status for a SEPA Direct Debit payment returns as “PENDING_APPROVAL”, you must approve the payment on the Ingenico website after a mandate has been signed. You cannot approve the mandate and resubmit the payment using the Aria UI since Ingenico does not currently provide an update capability via APIs.

  • ApplePay - Indirect
  • PayPal Express Checkout - Indirect
  • SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) Direct Debit

To accept payments from customers using ApplePay or PayPal Express Checkout, pass the values for either of those payment methods to the pay_method_type field in these API calls:

Notes:

  • To accept payments from customers using SEPA Direct Debit, you must first specify your merchant number, which you can obtain from your WorldPay representative. You can specify only one merchant number at the payment gateway level and create multiple collection groups with different merchant numbers based on your requirements.
  • Because of a limitation associated with SEPA Direct Debit, Aria does not recommend using authorize and capture in the same API call for payments made using that payment method. Instead, you should first make an authorize API call (example: authorize_electronic_payment), confirm that the order has been moved into the authorized status, then attempt to make a capture API call (example: collect_from_account). This will ensure that a payment is authorized before the payment is captured and the account balance is reduced.

Supported features: Fraud scoring, 3D Secure, and Instant Payment Notification (IPN).
