Aria Media and Publishing Suite (AMPS) - Title Management

Overview

The Title Management component of AMPS is key to handling of a media company’s business whether it is digital or printed or both. The component provides functionality that enables the client to handle individual newspaper (or magazines) and the distribution thereof.

Title Management

Title Management provides the following capabilities:

  • Titles – a title defines a newspaper (or magazine) and contains general attributes such as ID, name, description, localized names, etc. Mapping between the title and external ERP, distribution and access management system are also maintained. The solution provides functionality to add, modify, and remove titles.
  • Publishing Calendar – the publishing calendar is defined for each title and allows the client to maintain a publishing calendar defining the days of the week the paper is published and delivered to customers and any changes to this calendar. The publishing calendar is automatically generated based on the configuration of a title, but the client can also make changes, for example moving or deleting certain publishing days due to national holidays or other reasons. When generating the publishing calendar, the publishing days of a given title and any national holidays is taken into consideration.
  • National Holidays – for each country where the client operates, AMPS will interface to “timeanddate.com” to retrieve information on national holidays, provided the CLIENT maintains a valid license with "timeanddate.com". After retrieving the information on national holidays, the CLIENT can add, remove or modify the defined holidays. The holidays can also be managed manually without the use of "timeanddate.com".
  • Title Owners – a title owner defines the ownership of a given title and contains attributes such as ID, name and description. The ownership is used primarily for validation purposes but can be also be used for reporting. AMPS provides functionality to add, modify and remove title owners.

The Title Management component consists of the services, reports and sub flows shown in the below diagram.
