Usage Accumulation provides discounts to your customers on a Master or Supplemental Plan Instance(s) that allow usage to be accumulated and rated over a period of time extending beyond the account holder's usage billing interval, thus benefiting from a reduced rate per unit, at the higher tiers of usage. This time period for accumulating and rating usage is termed Alternate Usage Reset Months. The Alternate Usage Reset Months is configurable at the account level to automatically renew (default), or reset to 0 after the number of Alternate Usage Reset Months has expired.
Usage accumulation applies to only standard rating tier structures, not volume discount or flat rate per tier rating structures. It will work whether you have Aria configured to rate usage at time of invoicing or when usage records are uploaded into the system (real-time). If you load usage records into Aria with currency amounts assigned to them, your account holders will be billed based on your specified currency amounts, even if you have usage accumulation enabled for those account holders.
