Set the Usage Accumulation Reset Value

Overview

You can provide discounts to customers who subscribe to usage-based services by utilizing usage accumulation. Before you can set up usage accumulation and/or usage pooling for a customer, you must enable usage accumulation and/or usage pooling in your configuration.

Note: Once a customer has been billed for usage on a plan, you cannot enable or disable usage pooling for that plan.

Setting the Usage Accumulation Reset Value 

Getting Here: Click Accounts > search for an account > Plans > select a plan instance

  1. Click the Usage Accumulation Reset Value link.

The following screen displays:

  • Alternate Usage Reset Months: The number of months for which usage is being accumulated for usage-based services in a plan based on what was specified in the New Alternate Usage Reset Months field.
  • Alternate Months Counter: The number of months for which the customer has been accumulating usage for a plan during the specified number of Alternate Usage Reset Months.
  1. For each plan, select the number of months for which usage should be accumulated for the customer in order to determine how to rate the usage.

Note: If you previously set up usage accumulation for a plan, you can select 0 to disable usage accumulation for the plan.

  1. Click Save.
