This article provides the steps to create a new account in Salesforce.

Getting Here: Click Accounts > New
Note: Required fields are marked in red.
- If Person Accounts are enabled for your instance of Salesforce, then select the type of account you are creating. If Person Accounts are not enabled, then the account created defaults to a Business Account.
- A Business Account is held by an organization.
- A Person Account is held by a single individual. Note the following about Person accounts:
- Person accounts do not have a parent account.
- Person accounts are treated as a contact and as an account.
- Enter the account information in the appropriate fields.
- Click Save.
